Commercial & Industrial Epoxy Floor Coatings in Country Walk FL - planned around your work

Worn, stained or peeling shop or warehouse floor? We test the slab, then coat it on a schedule your business can work around.

A large, empty room has a polished gray marbled epoxy floor reflecting ceiling lights and glass doors.

How do you get an epoxy floor without shutting down your business for weeks?

Commercial and industrial epoxy floor coating is a coating we put down over the concrete slab in your Country Walk shop, warehouse or showroom. It cures into a hard floor that can carry forklift and heavy equipment traffic.

Most business owners call when the floor has worn through in the traffic lanes, gone dusty and stained, or started peeling where an old coating let go, and they worry that fixing it means closing the doors. The price mostly turns on the size of the floor, how much grinding and repair the slab needs, and whether we do the space all at once or in sections. The schedule turns on what the slab test shows and how long you can keep each area clear while it cures, and your own figure comes from the written estimate I give you after I've tested the floor.

At Country Walk Cobalt Epoxy Flooring, I care most about the part of the job you can't see. Any floor looks good on the first day, but the testing and prep underneath decide how it holds up under traffic, and I'd rather tell you a slab isn't ready than coat it and hope.

What happens after you call about a commercial floor in Country Walk?

Here's who does what, from your first call to the final walk across the finished floor. Call (786) 733-0104 or use our estimate form to get it started.

I test your slab before I price it

When you call, I set up a time to come out, look at your floor and test the slab myself, so the price is built on what your concrete is actually doing. You get a written estimate from that visit, and we talk through how the work could fit around your hours.

Permits checked before anything is scheduled

Before we put your job on the calendar, we check which office covers your address. If the job needs a permit or other approval, we handle the application and tell you what you need to sign.

Our crew does the work, and I'm on it with them

I opened our business in 2017, and I still work on the floor with our crew. We're fully licensed and insured. We prep the slab, put down the system we agreed on and walk the finished floor with you. Your satisfaction, guaranteed.

How we put down commercial and industrial epoxy floor coatings while you keep working

On a working floor the hard part is downtime, so before we touch the concrete we plan the job around the way your business runs, down to which aisles have to stay open and where trucks come and go. On a big space we talk through doing it in sections, so one part of the building keeps working while another is closed off. We also plan fresh air for anyone nearby until the coating has cured, because some epoxy components can be hazardous before they cure and health guidance says to raise ventilation as much as you can. Smell isn't a good guide to whether the air is safe, so we don't go by it.

Some of the business owners we work for also have a garage at home, and we do garage floor coatings with the same slab testing and prep. If you're weighing a different coating for your space, our page on polyaspartic floor coatings covers that work, and we can talk through both when I come out.

  • A walk-through and slab moisture test before any coating date is set
  • A work plan built around your hours, with large floors split into sections
  • Grinding and repair so the coating bonds to sound concrete
  • The coating system we agree on, put down by our crew with me on the floor
  • Fresh air planned for anyone nearby until the coating cures

How a commercial epoxy floor goes down

Every area of the floor goes through the same four steps, whether we do the whole building at once or one section at a time.

  1. Test the slab close to the coating date

A moisture test only shows the slab's condition on the day it's run and in the spots tested, so we time it close to when the coating goes down. If the slab isn't ready, we stop there and tell you.

  2. Grind and repair the concrete

We grind the surface and fix cracks and broken spots so the coating has clean, sound concrete to grab onto. You won't see this part later, and it's usually where most of the work goes.

  3. Put down the coating

Our crew mixes and puts down the system we agreed on while the area is closed off and the air is moving. I'm on the floor with them, checking coverage as we go.

  4. Keep traffic off until it cures

Foot traffic comes back before forklifts do, and the waits for each are covered in the questions below. We keep the area marked off so nobody drives on it early.

Questions about commercial epoxy floors in Country Walk

How long does a commercial epoxy floor take to install in Country Walk?

Most commercial epoxy projects take 2 to 5 days, according to an epoxy contractor directory that covers the Miami area. The same directory says a large warehouse of 10,000 square feet or more may need 1 to 2 weeks when it's done in phases. That's the window to plan a closure around, or to plan the sections we talked about above.

When can forklifts drive on a new epoxy floor?

That directory puts cure time at 72 hours for forklift or heavy equipment traffic and 24 hours for light foot traffic. Book deliveries and equipment moves for after the longer cure, and we'll go over the timing for each section with you before we start.

Does a concrete slab need a moisture test before an epoxy coating?

Yes, coating makers generally require a moisture test first, because too much moisture in the slab after coating can make the coating lose its bond, lift in peaks, break down or let microbes grow. The test belongs on the schedule ahead of the coating date, which is why I test your slab before we set one.

How much does commercial epoxy flooring cost in the Miami area?

Epoxy floor coating in the Miami area usually costs about $3 to $11 per square foot, and that's a general guide to the market, not our price. A slab that needs a lot of grinding and repair lands higher than a sound one, and your own number comes from the written estimate after I test your floor.

Miami-Dade permits and licensing for a floor coating job

We're based in Country Walk and work across the cities around it in Miami-Dade County, and the rules here are the county's. Miami-Dade County's list of work that needs no building permit names floor surfacing with carpet, tile, brick or wood, but it doesn't name epoxy coatings, so that list doesn't settle the question for your floor, and the county's permitting office is the place to ask. The same list says other agencies may require a permit or approval even when a building permit isn't needed, which is why we check your address before we schedule.

Contractors working in Miami-Dade County are licensed by the county's Contractor Licensing Section, and that licensing covers the tradesmen doing the work, not just the company name on the estimate. When you're choosing a crew for your floor, ask who'll be working on it and check them with the county before the job starts.
